FSA/HSA FAQs

What are Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)?

FSAs and HSAs are employee benefit plans offered by some employers in the United States that allow eligible employees to set aside pretax dollars from their paycheck into a dedicated account to pay for eligible healthcare-related expenses. These expenses can include things like doctor visits, prescriptions, and certain skincare products. Always check your plan for specifics.

What skincare products are FSA + HSA eligible?

Broad spectrum sunscreen products with SPF 15 or higher are generally eligible for reimbursement through your FSA/HSA, including lotions, moisturizers, foundations, and more.
The list of approved FSA and HSA items is maintained by the IRS and can change at any time. Reimbursement for any FSA/HSA purchase is at the discretion of your benefits provider. Always check with your provider for guidance on product eligibility.

How do I pay for my FSA/HSA products?

Drjart.com does not accept FSA/HSA debit cards as a form of payment. However, you can still use your FSA or HSA account to be reimbursed for eligible products. Here's how to be reimbursed for FSA/HAS eligible products on drjart.com:

1. Purchase with a traditional credit card or debit card. Pay for your FSA/HSA-eligible items with your traditional credit card or debit card at drjart.com.

2. Submit a claim for reimbursement. Submit your receipt and any other required documents to your FSA/HSA benefits provider for reimbursement. Remember to check with your provider to understand what documentation is required for your claim. For most FSA/HSA plans, the information needed is usually included in your order confirmation email or the emailed in-store receipt.

3. Get reimbursed. Once you have filed a qualifying claim with your FSA or HSA provider using the information you gathered, they will reimburse you for eligible purchases. Timing of your reimbursement may vary by plan.

Do I need a prescription to use my FSA/HSA on skincare?

In most cases, you do not need a prescription to purchase eligible over-the-counter skincare products with your FSA/HSA dollars. Items like sunscreens can typically be bought without a prescription. However, some FSA/HSA plans require a letter of medical necessity for specific skincare products, so please check with your benefits provider to confirm your purchase meets their requirements.

How do I return an FSA/HSA-eligible product?

If you need to return an FSA/HSA-eligible product, you should follow Dr.Jart+’s standard return policy. Once your return is approved, the funds will be refunded to your original payment method. If you have filed for reimbursement for your purchase of an FSA/HSA-eligible product, you should contact your benefits provider to determine if additional steps are needed.
